I own all sony gear. i just got a 55 inch LCD (its awesome)? Im about to get a home theather system with blu-ray? Im curious if it plays DVD or would i have to get a dvd system? Im mostly buying blu-ray discs from now on (i even have blu-ray player/burner on my laptop) but some stuff is strictly DVD’s like old school movies.

i have a sony 55 inch LCD rear projection tv. i’ve noticed little blue dots on the screen about a week ago. it started with one and i’m now at 6. is there a way i can fix the problem myself so i’m not taken advantage of by some repair person. i was told it could be the lamp but i want to be certain. thanks
