Things you may want to consider:

1. Surround sound.
2. Bluray
3. HDMI cables, while even cheaper cables can transmit a goo picture you need nicer cables to do good picture and 7.1 hd audio.
4. Surge Supressor. Those long white strips are junk, I (highly) reccomend a good Tripplite surge. That will run you about $99 for an Isobar

1. you should check out the prices online first. they will often significantly trump best buy's prices. check out sites like buy.com, amazon, crutchfield, and tigerdirect. these places often offer free shipping as well.

2. the only add on should be the tax (unless you need to have it delivered. check with one of your friends and see if they have a larger vehicle or van you can borrow first). never buy cables at best buy. they will try to steer you towards high end monster cables. you can get perfectly good cables on ebay or monoprice for 1/8th the cost, that will work just as good as the monster ones will. remember, in the case of HDMI, it's digital. that means (unless you are talkinig about very long cable runs) no signal lost, and the signal either is received or not (0 or 1).

I got one in 2008,
The only change I had to make was with the cable box and the type of cables. They have higher quality. The cost to me is $5 per month extra on my cable bill.
No other charges to watch the TV.
I have a Vizio 42 inch. Very happy
