The D40 since you are getting two excellent lenes with that package and in all honesty produces far better image quality that rival canons more professional cameras. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommen…
I’ve heard both of those are good cameras. I’ve heard the D40 is especially good for beginners.
You wouldn’t go wrong producing nice images with either camera, especially if you use a better lens than the kits. Go to a store and handle each to see which one you’d like better.
